Unraveling the Mask of a Little Girl’s Reflection
By: iced.cadaver
Is she happy or sad?
No one really knows
Behind those fancy facades
Big smiles and happy faces
What’s underneath that skin?
That you keep on hiding
Is it something you don’t like?
Someone you don’t know? Or only you, hiding.
Hiding from whom and for what?
Is she hiding or just, afraid
That what may be beyond that mask,
People will not like and easily judge
The mask she wears
Hides the twisted pains and ill-forgotten bleakness
Living like a clown
Where everybody only notices her charms
She thinks she’s strong enough,
To conceal herself within,
But if you will only try and see,
You’ll know there still lots missing.
Until then she’ll keep on smiling.
Hiding behind the mask she’s wearing.
Hoping one day she could truly smile,
Till then, she’ll be here.. waiting.
Hiding behind the mask she’s wearing.
Hoping one day she could truly smile,
Till then, she’ll be here.. waiting.
