I Love You Forever: A Reflection

A long and lasting love truly exists!
From the moment of conception until the day we’re born, our parent’s had undergone series of problems, sufferings and critical decisions. Becoming a parent is not an easy task; it’s a big responsibility that includes wise and proper decision.
I remember the song “ANAK” by Freddie Aguilar; a brilliant composition that when heard by rebel teenagers will help them realize what they had done, not only to their life but also to the lives of their parents, especially our MOTHER. We often describe a mother as a “sirang plaka”, always repeating and repeating and repeating what they said.  Until such time we got used to it. But after a very noisy environment we had during the day, we slept soundly with her soft embrace and sweet lullabies.
It’s not what they say; instead what they do indicates what they feel.  We may forget things stored in our mind but we’ll never forget what is engraved to our heart. Why? Because it had became a part of us.
“It’s their love and warmth that made us felt we’re alive. When the feeling of emptiness lay down on our shoulders, it’s their words that ease our pain and tension.”
I also want to stress this song, “Ugoy ng duyan”, I always cry when I hear, it’s not because of the soothing melody, but to the fact, that my parents will not always be there for me, sooner or later I know that I have to bid goodbye. It’s either I go first or them. But the sad thing is that not being able to tell them how I loved them, and say sorry for the entire mistake I’ve committed. The warmth of being loved is one of the most satisfactory thing that I, you, us can feel.
My life to them I owe,
The one who help me to grow;
Their love made my heart glow,
The moment my blood started to flow;
            In this complicated world, full of sorrows and sadness, we always change to adapt to the environment. As we go on with our journey in life, we can’t avoid mistakes. We fell to our knees and feels like, not standing back at all. Making it so easy, simply giving up a fight without even trying to fight. But as expected, DAD’s hands always catch me whenever I fall, and encourage me to continue, and told me I did great. You became a looser the moment you stop fighting, and that’s true. Pieces of words, that became part of who I am now. They always emphasized that in every fight I will face in the future they will always be at my back to support me whenever I needed them.
            My entire life I depended on them, I had experienced the life that they wanted me to experience. It’s not a life full of richness and fame, but it’s a life full of love and happiness, that even money and material things can’t give. Life is not perfect as we wanted it to be, we had up’s and downs, sadness and tears but after a long dark night in my life, I always woke up seeing the bright and smile of my parents to lighten up my day. There are always problems on the way but we had faced it with God in our hearts and as a family.
            And now as I grew older and older each day, I‘ll bear in mind at all times, that in everything I do, I shall be doing it for them, and for their happiness. And having the goal of being the best daughter I could be that they can be proud of.
            My life, my inspiration and my greatest treasure, MY FAMILY.
