Life is at its fullest when you learn to appreciate it!
Trials and obstacles are always present in a person’s life, and that what makes life worth living for? Imagine a food without seasonings, tasteless, life would become so boring and useless. To learn is to become mature and we have to remember that learning requires effort.
They say, “Experience is the Best Teacher”, yes it’s true, I had proven it myself. As young as I am right now, I could say that I had uncountable lessons in life and they are all very important, because that made me who I am right now.
Election is one of the biggest issues in the Philippines. My dad took part on it, it was a very crucial decision that he and the family had made. Majority of us doesn’t permit him to run, but as usual he is always the final decision maker and that started our dilemma. Cruel words, and never ending issues, personal or not, are thrown to us, I could best describe that as politics. According to him, he has to run or no one will fight the present administration who has been taking their advantages as officials to control people in their ill will. He was the only liberal councilor in our municipality. That decision made a very big change in my life and gave me one of the great lessons I could learn in this truly cruel world. But I consider this as my greatest lesson as of now because it affected my decisions as of what I want and don’t want to be in the future.
People are not the one making their decision when influenced by money. People are just good in pushing you to the limit and telling you that they are just in your back to support you whatever will happen. People don’t care what will happen to their community as long as they had felt pleasure. To some this is true, and to some is not.
People on our town kept telling me that I will be the next politician in the family, my dad was, and it is in our genes, and I can’t deny that. He is an ex-official and he always lost in his third term. I don’t understand the idea of being an official when your goal is to help the community, what a weird question. I mean there are so many ways, why indulged in this politics thing, a risky and dangerous situation that you’re letting yourself into. I told them, being an official is not just the only thing I or we could be to be able to help in our community. For I do believe, that everyone can make a change when they start to change themselves for the better. As for now, Politics has no room for me in the future. And when someone ask me why? I’ll throw them this question, has there been an official arrested because they are buying votes? In the end, I would just answer that I hate this politics thing. I had experienced the experience a youth like me shouldn’t experience in his/her crucial growth stage.
