learning insight in NSTP

Capital N for national, S for service, T for training and P for program. NSTP, by just reading it’s definition one could conclude that this subject is for the deeper understanding of the word “countrymen”, and for the betterment of our beloved nation.

NSTP as what I heard according to some students is a tiring subject. You’ve got to cancel all your appointments during rest day because of the activities that is basically a part of NSTP like tree planting and stuffs. But what I appreciated about NSTP is that it offers individual the opportunity of being of help to others, especially those who are in need. It does not purely focuses on the present generation but to the conservation of the next generation. I as an NSTP student can proudly say that in my own little way, I contributed to the salvation of mother earth by just planting a tree. If there will be millions of students who will plant trees then one tree will become millions, even though we can’t restore mother earth but at least we can prevent it from total destruction. Let’s salvage what we can before it’s too late.

Our economy right now is not as healthy as it was before, where citizens don’t have to go abroad to finance their families here in the Philippines. That’s what we called “on practical basis”, but the disadvantage are pulling us down. All the excellent people go to abroad for financial security that our government can’t provide. NSTP 11, emphasizes the continuous patronage to our own nation will make a big change. No one can help us uproot Philippines from being a third world country except ourselves. Being a “makabayan” not just in mind but also in heart is what everyone should practice.

In order to do so, we have to hold hands and fight any injustice and corruption that our economy is suffering right now. But we should not forget that we should hate the sin made by that person not the person himself. That is the basic aspect of humanity. Everyone should believe that there is justice that will prevail in a peaceful and right manner. Killing is a big NO-NO; we don’t have the right to do so.

Every endeavor we face in our day to day struggle, we should face it with courage and honesty. And when you believe that you can do it, you really can do it. With the help of Our Almighty Father all impossible is possible. As for me, I would just smile at my biggest problem and say, “hey you! Don’t under-estimate me, I have a BIG GOD!”

All in all, it’s been a privilege to be enrolled in NSTP 11, although it’s tiring, but it helps me find time to not think of my academic troubles and stuff. It helps me ease the tension.
